Every session is tailored to the individual after a thorough assessment of musculoskeletal patterns, lifestyle factors, and individual health objectives, enabling precise treatment selection. As a degree-qualified and registered therapist, within massage sessions, I integrate evidence-based practice and modalities such as myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, assisted stretching and more to address both acute discomfort and chronic tension with measurable effectiveness.

In addition to this, I have completed training in oncology massage (OM) and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). These are gentler modalities utilising engagement of the parasympathetic nervous system to attain a tangible result.

Massage Therapy Tailored to You

While I was going through cancer treatment in 2023 and 2024, I felt that more services needed to be available for people in the Selwyn district who had received a cancer diagnosis, were receiving treatment, or were in survivorship or end-of-life care. Those who have received a cancer diagnosis should have complementary therapies more easily available to them where possible, to help as they navigate their pathway. Unfortunately, cancer does not simply end when treatment does. There can be a massive range of symptoms or conditions post-treatment that you are not aware of until after treatment. Post-surgery and while receiving immunotherapy, I continued learning. While my treatment may have ended, I have not stopped learning! I will continue to learn and develop my skills as a massage therapist to better assist my clients across all my areas of massage.

There is more to me than massage! I love the outdoors, and the mountains, rivers and ocean are some of my favourite places to be when I need to recharge.

Why name my business Legacy Massage?

It may seem somewhat unusual, but following my cancer treatment, I decided I wanted to leave something good behind in the world, even if I did not end up living for as long as I had planned. A part of my goal in this business is to find a way for those in the South Island diagnosed with cancer to have their oncology massage sponsored or subsidised to help them as they navigate treatment. That is where the name comes in, as that is the legacy I want to leave behind.
